Subject: More Surprise?
Fatha is not at all pleased with the election results and they are making it known. Well it is really the people who stand their positions who are rioting and blaming their leaders for allowing the opposition to win.
The PLO leaders are not happy and I can guess their trying to figure out how keep some control. It is so simple. Power gets control which gets wealth which can be spread out a bit to keep support and maintain power. They've had it for 40 years and that won't change easily despite the vote.]
Hamas has got to be thinking real hard about how their going to take their mandate and do something with it. They are going to need money quick. They need to form a government that will work and that will mean taking charge of a lot of existing structure. None of this will be easy with civil unrest that might become civil war like what has happened in Iraq, which is exactly the same situation. Look, the mostly Sunni Baht had power for 35 years with all the included perks. We destroyed that and elections shifted the mandate to the have nots and that has not sat well so we have a kind of guerrilla civil war.
The biggest problem Hamas faces is reconciling their political stance with reality. The people who elected them don't want war. They don't want to kill all Jews.
What they want is to get along with Israel so they can get jobs in Israel and have a better life.
Strangely enough they have my best wishes.
